Differences in slavery across ancient cultures

I will be examining different slavery areas, including, but not limited to, slavery in ancient Rome, Greece, and Egypt. My main focus is how the slaves were treated differently in each of these respective countries, and if they were considered to be more human than merely property, or vice versa. I also am examining what kind of work these ancient slaves all did, and if their duties varied throughout nations. The way slavery was viewed in each of these countries is worth noting because some places may have accepted slavery more than others. This may help to determine why revolts occured, how explain how productive these slaves were.
